Configure settings for administration of work package completion in Maintenix

Enabling permissions to complete work package in Maintenix

For technicians who release aircraft which subsequently completes the work package in Maintenix, the required permissions must be enabled in Maintenix for the technician's role to do so.

Follow the steps below to enable the permissions to complete the work package and its work scope items for the technician's role in Maintenix:

  1. On your Administrator menu click Role Search.
  2. Search for the Line Technician role and click on the role.
  3. Click on the Permissions tab and search for the permission by parm name WC_API_COMPLETE_WORKSCOPE_ITEM_BATCH. This is the permission to complete tasks and close faults in Maintenix when the technician releases the aircraft using Mobile Maintenance for Aviation.
  4. Select the checkbox for the WC_API_COMPLETE_WORKSCOPE_ITEM_BATCH parm, click Enable and then click OK.
  5. To grant permission for a technician to complete the work package in Maintenix when the aircraft is released using Mobile Maintenance for Aviation, search for the permission by parm name WC_API_COMPLETE_WORK_PACKAGE.
  6. Select the checkbox for the WC_API_COMPLETE_WORK_PACKAGE parm, click Enable and then click OK.

For a work package to be completed on aircraft release in Mobile Maintenance for Aviation, you also need to ensure that the mxinbox user, who is responsible for the communication between Mobile Maintenance for Aviation and Maintenix, has the required skill assigned to release the aircraft in Maintenix. The skill required to close a work package is defined by the BLANK_CHECK_SIGNATURE configuration parameter. This is the skill displayed in the Signoff Requirements section accessed from the Work Package Details page in Maintenix.

Setting up alerts to notify failure to complete work package in Maintenix

For a role to be notified of the failure to complete the work package in Maintenix, the relevant alerts can be set up in Maintenix as follows:

  1. On your Administrator menu click Alert Setup.
  2. Filter the Category as WCAPI.
  3. Select the check boxes for the displayed alerts and click Edit Role Assignments.
  4. For the role(s) you want to set up alerts for, select the check box for the alert type(s).
  5. Click OK.
