There is possible to have the system automatically look for sold out days, this is done trough the aggregate daily job it have to be activated in this job. A day is set to be sold out when there is no sales/transactions on the part on a day and the qty on hand is 0. The Qty lost is the forecasted qty for the sold out date. You can configure how this function works in the Advance Server Settings of the Demand Plan Server. You can set the sold out data in both the Forecast Graph and Forecast Table. The aggregate daily MUST be scheduled to run once every day for this function to work, its also worth to note that the search for the sales transaction is done at the time the aggregate daily job runs, so it might be worth considering running this job after office hours.
