Use this window to specify the parameters that are needed to start up the demand planning server.

General
This tab contains the communication settings and indicates where to find or place different files.
Enable | Specify which server engine you want activated (Forecast, IPR or both). This settings must correspond with the installed components. If you only want to activate the IPR function you only need to bother filling in the Directories and the Database tabs in this dialog. NOTE: If you select one of the IPR setting's without having bought and installed the IPR (INVPLA) component in the database you will get an error message from the Demand Plan Server and it will not work properly. If this is the case set it back to Forecast and restart the Demand Plan Server. |
Auto Approve | With this filed checked all the demand planning client will auto approve all parts when you move to the next. You will then not be prompted the do you want to approve dialog when working in the demand planning client. |
Port Number | The port number on which the server is listening. It must be the same port number specified in the setup for the demand planning client. See Server GUI. |
Window Service | Specify if you want the server to run as a normal windows application or as a service with either manual or auto start. Manual start means that you need to log on to the server machine to start the service after a power out or other failure that has caused the server machine to be turned off. Auto will restart the server automatically when the server powers up. |
Directories
This tab contains the communication settings and indicates where to find or place different files.
Log Directory | The directory location for the log file. Default suggested dir appears. |
Language File | The directory location for the language file to be used by the demand plan server. Default is the standard language file (English) |
HelpFile(URL): | The Web location for the client main help file, e.g., http://oslrnd1:81/eng2000b/Doc/en/demand/SfrmServerGUI.htm. Default is the English helpfiles that comes with the installation. |
Database
This tab contains the Oracle settings.
Appowner | The appowner user. Note that you have to prefix the base flow SQL's with appowner if you run the DP server with a DP server user. If you run DP server as appowner then leave this field empty. |
Username | The Demand Plan Server user, remember to prefix the base flow SQLs with the appowner user. If you run DP server as appowner then specify the appowner user here. |
Password | The password of the Demand Plan server user / the appowner password if you run DP server as appowner. |
Oracle Server | Contains the name of the Oracle connection. This is the name found in tnsnames.ora. It is used by SQLPlus and SQL Worksheet. |
Appowner | The database appowner. Must be specified if the Demand Server are to run with another user than the appowner. |
Forecast Server ID | The identification given to the forecast server in the Demand Plan Server setup. |
Read Buffer Size | How many records the server should read from Oracle at one time. Default is 100. |
