Set Work Assignment Status to Incomplete

Explanation

Use this activity when you cannot complete the planned work fully during the current assignment. When setting a Work Assignment to Incomplete, an Incomplete Cause must be provided.

If you select an Incomplete Cause with Do not reassign to me flag enabled, this Work Task will not be rescheduled to the same resource that set the Work Assignment to Incomplete. If a Scheduling Solution is used, this action also creates a Resource Preference with Preference 0, on the Work Task in Work Task\Scheduling Information.

It is possible to specify how much time remains to complete the remaining work at the same time, and the Time to Completion attribute on the Work Assignment is updated accordingly in the back office.

If creating follow-on work to complete the remaining work is enabled for the Work Task through a Workflow Configuration, the you will be presented with the following options:

• Assign to me : This opens the next step for the assistant to create a new Work Assignment for the same resource. The new assignment is available for you on mobile.
  Note : This option is not valid if you select an Incomplete Cause which has Do not reassign to me flag enabled.
• Needs to be planned : This opens the next step for the assistant to create a new resource demand for the Work Task. It is possible to specify a preferred resource for this resource demand as well.

Prerequisites

• A work assignment should exist.
• If there is any work performed through the work assignment, the usages should be reported in.
• Incomplete codes must be defined in Incomplete Cause page.
• To allow the technician to create follow-on work for the remaining work , this should be enabled through a Workflow Configuration with Configuration Type - Work Task or Configured Work Task. The relevant configuration should be applied to the Work Task, and the action Restrict Follow-on Work Actions On Incompletion must be disabled.

System Effects

• The Work assignment will be set to status Incomplete.
• The Assignment Finish Date on the work assignment is updated with the current date.
• If the work assignment is in status Work Started, the Work Finish Date is updated with current date.
• If the user selects an Incomplete Cause with Do not reassign to me flag enabled, Scheduling preference for this resource will be updated to 0 on the Work Task. It will also be visible for dispatchers against the Work Assignment that was set to incomplete in IFS Cloud.
• If follow on work assignments exist (visits), those will be cancelled.
• If creating follow-on work is enabled for the Work Task, the follow-on work will be created as below :
  • If the user selects the option Assign to me , a new resource demand and an assignment for the demand is created for the Work Task. The new assignment will be available in My Work list.
  • If the user selects the option Needs to be planned and proceeded to create a new resource demand,  a new resource demand will be created for the Work Task and will be available for dispatchers for planning.
