Update Top Level Date

Explanation

This activity is used to update the due date on the top DOP order to match the demand date on the DOP header. The start date on the top DOP order will also be updated. If the top DOP order has supply orders, you can specify whether the due dates of the pegged supply orders should be automatically adjusted.

To update the due date click Update Date/Quantity, then click Update Top Level Due Date. If pegged supplies exist for the DOP top part, a message will appear inquiring whether to automatically update the pegged supply orders. If you choose not to update the due dates on the pegged supply orders, time alarms might be generated.

Prerequisites

This activity requires that a DOP structure be generated for a DOP header.

System Effects

• The due date of the top DOP order is updated to the same date as the due date of the DOP header. The start date is also updated using backwards planning. For information on how this is done, see Set DOP Order Start Date by Backwards Planning.
• Any existing date alarm for a date mismatch between the DOP header and the top DOP order is resolved.
• The due dates of existing supply orders pegged to the top DOP order are automatically adjusted when specified. Otherwise, date alarms are generated for date mismatches between the DOP order and the supply orders.
• If the site has Schedule and Create Load for DOP Order Operations enabled, machine and labor load of source Scheduled DOP are re-created for the operations on the top order based on the quantity remaining to supply on the DOP order, plus the planned supply scrap for that quantity. This applies if the DOP order is for a manufactured part and has the status Unreleased or Netted.
