Update Top Level Quantity

Explanation

This activity is used to update the order quantity on the top DOP order to match the demand quantity on the DOP header. If the top DOP order has supply orders, you can specify whether the quantities of the pegged supply orders should be automatically adjusted.

To update the quantity click Update Date/Quantity, then click Update Top Level Quantity. If pegged supplies exist for the DOP top part, a message will appear inquiring whether to automatically update the pegged supply orders. If you choose not to update the quantities on the pegged supply orders, quantity alarms might be generated.

Prerequisites

This activity requires that a DOP structure is generated for a DOP header.

System Effects

• The order quantity of the top DOP order is updated to the same quantity as the demand quantity of the DOP header.
• Any existing quantity alarm due to a quantity mismatch between the DOP header and the top DOP order is resolved.
• The quantities of existing supply orders pegged to the top DOP order are automatically adjusted when specified. Otherwise, quantity alarms are generated for quantity mismatches between the DOP order and the supply orders.
• The due date and start date are updated for the top DOP order. For information on how this is done, see Plan DOP Orders.
• If the site has Schedule and Create Load for DOP Order Operations enabled, machine and labor load of source Scheduled DOP are re-created for the operations on the top order based on the quantity remaining to supply on the DOP order, plus the planned supply scrap for that quantity. This applies if the DOP order is for a manufactured part and has the status Unreleased or Netted.
