Setup Tool Calibration Parameters

Explanation

Use this activity to define calibration parameters for tool/equipment. The parameters to be defined are Calibration Base, Interval Unit and Interval.

For Calendar based calibration, available interval units are Day, Week, Month and Year.

For Usage based calibration, available interval units are Hour and Quantity.
When usage is reported or cancelled, either manually or automatically, Value Since Last Calibration and Remaining Value Until Calibration Due are increased and decreased. Refer to Report Tool Usage for more information about tool usage reporting.

Note: Usage based calibration is only applicable for tools used in Manufacturing.

Note: If the Interval Unit and/or the Calibration Base are changed, Value Since Last Calibration and Remaining Value Until Calibration Due are recalculated based on all transactions in the usage history from the last calibration date and forward (the time stamp for last calibration date is not considered, as we don´t have the time stamp for transactions).

 

Prerequisites

• A Tool/Equipment ID must exist.

System Effects

• When Values Since Last Calibration reaches the calibration interval, or last calibration date is reached, calibration status is changed to Calibration Due.

For usage based calibration,

• Value Since Last Calibration and Remaining Value Until Calibration Due are increased and decreased based on all reported usage on or after the last calibration date for the tool.
