Part requirements change as the plan is refined: a quantity needs correcting, or a requirement is no longer needed. Use this activity to keep the part requirements on a task or fault up to date after they have been assigned, and to follow how the material for each requirement is being sourced.
The requirements are held on the Part Requirements list on the Task Execution tab of the Open Task or Open and Deferred Fault page. You can update the Quantity of a requirement. The part group, assembly, alternate part, install, removal, and position are shown for reference so that the correct requirement is identified before it is changed or removed.
A requirement can have one or more part requests, listed in the nested Part Requests list with the part request ID, whether the request may be late, pickup, priority, status, and provider. Open the part request ID to review it on the Part Request page. A requirement cannot be removed once material is committed: delete is unavailable when the work package is In Work, the task class is MPC, or the task is batch completed.
To add a requirement, see Assign Part to the Task.
Navigate to the Open Task page of the task or to the Open and Deferred Fault page of the fault.
Info: On the Open and Deferred Fault page, edit or delete the requirement on the Part Requirements list in the same way as on the Open Task page.
