Create a repair order for unserviceable inventory

You can create a repair order for unserviceable inventory, that needs to be repaired by a single repair vendor.

  1. To find unserviceable inventory for which you want to create a repair order, do one of the following:
    • Go to the Unserviceable Staging tab and select inventory lines belonging to a single supply location.
Note: You can select the vendor for which the repair order should be created, if you select inventory with multiple vendors.
    • Go to the Inventory Search page, find the required inventory to repair and open in the Inventory Details page.
  2. Click Create Repair Order.
  3. On the Create Repair Order page, provide the requested information and click OK. Note the following:
    • Order Number: You can edit the auto-generated value, if required.
    • Vendor: Select the repair vendor authorized to do work on the repair order. If a repair vendor was selected previously on the Unserviceable Staging tab, it will be displayed here.
    • Return to Location: Select the location where the inventory will be returned upon completion of the order.
    • Re-Expedite To Location: Select the location which will serve as the Ship To location for the inbound shipment of the repair order.
Order lines are created for the selected inventory with the Unit Price and Promised By Date based on values from the repair vendor contract, if specified on the parts for the inventory. A scheduled work package is connected to each order line.
Add inventory line to repair order.
