Predrawing inventory
You can predraw inventory in two ways: you can use an issue ticket that lists the inventory to predraw, or you can use a hand-held device (a PDA) that displays the predraw requests that have been assigned to you.
When you predraw inventory, Maintenix does the following:
- When you pick only some of the items in a part request, Maintenix splits the part request. It moves the items that you picked to the predraw location, and creates a new part request for the remaining items.
- When the barcode or the serial number for an item that you pick is different from the serial number that is specified on the part request, Maintenix updates the part request with the serial number of the item that you picked. The item with the serial number that was originally on the part request remains available for new reservations.
- When the item you pick is included in a kit inventory item, Maintenix removes the item from the kit's inventory record.
After the inventory has been predrawn from the shelf, it can be issued to the requesting technician.
