Put away inventory
Inventory that's loose, serviceable, not issued, not locked, and not already in a storage location is listed on the To Be Shelved tab for put away in a warehouse bin. Your view of the tab, and the action you perform on it, depends on whether Maintenix is configured to auto-complete put-away transfers.
- Serviceable inventory is turned in to the warehouse (serviceable stores).
- After an internal component work package is completed, inventory becomes serviceable and is transferred to the warehouse.
- Serviceable inventory is received from a vendor. It doesn't require inspection and isn't reserved.
- Inventory that requires inspection is received from a vendor. After inspection the inventory is serviceable and it isn't reserved.
- Serviceable inventory that was reserved, is unreserved.
- Serviceable inventory is reserved, but it's not immediately required.
- On the To Be Shelved tab, when the AUTO_COMPLETE_PUTAWAY configuration parameter is false, put-aways, associated with the inventory that needs to be shelved, are displayed. If a pending put-away was created, you complete the put-away. If there's no pending put-away, you create one.
- On the To Be Shelved tab, when the AUTO_COMPLETE_PUTAWAY configuration parameter is true, you put-away inventory that Maintenix could not automatically put away.
| Parm value | Put-away behavior |
|---|---|
| False: put-aways are manually completed |
On the To Be Shelved tab, you see the following buttons:
If there is exactly one bin level set for the inventory's part number, a put-away transfer is created in pending status. The item is listed on the To Be Shelved tab and the put-away information is displayed. (You can see a pending put-away transfer on the Inventory Details page, Open Moves sub-tab.) You click the Complete Put Away button and the location of the inventory item changes to the put-away bin. If none or multiple bin levels are set for the inventory's part number, the inventory is displayed on the To Be Shelved tab, but the put-away transfer is not created. You create the transfer, specify the put-away bin, and then complete the put-away afterward (by clicking the Complete Put Away button). |
| True: some put-aways are automatically completed |
On the To Be Shelved tab, you see the following button:
If there is exactly one bin level set up for the inventory's part number, the put-away transfer is automatically created and completed as one event. Inventory that is automatically put away is not listed on the To Be Shelved tab. When the transfer is complete, the location of the inventory changes to the put-away bin. For example, an item is received at the dock in INSPREQ condition. As soon as it's inspected as serviceable, the item location changes to the specified put-away bin. On the Inventory Details page, Historical Moves sub-tab, a history note records that the put-away is complete. (No pending put-away is recorded.) If none or multiple bin levels are set for the inventory's part number, the put-away transfer isn't automatically created and completed. The inventory is displayed on the To Be Shelved tab and you click the Put Away button to select the bin and complete the put-away transfer. A history note records that the put-away is complete. |
You cannot put away inventory in RFB condition.
