Ad hoc tasks

To address one-time administration tasks you can manually create ad hoc tasks. In Maintenix, ad hoc tasks are tasks that are not created based on task definitions.

For example, if you receive a notification that there are some data discrepancies in Maintenix involving an asset with a planned maintenance visit, you can create a one-time administrative task for a mechanic to read and record the correct serial numbers found on an asset.

Depending on your permissions, there are different ways in Maintenix where a maintenance controller, technician, or other role can create an ad hoc task:
  • On the Fleet List, Preview Release, or Edit Inventory task pages, click Create Task.
  • On the Inventory Details page, Open Tasks tab, click Create Task.
  • On the Work Package Details page, on either the Workscope tab or Tasks tab, click Create New Task.
  • On the Task Details page, Task Execution tab, Subtasks area, click the plus sign to Create a New Ad Hoc Subtask.
