Touch Apps

IFS Touch Apps work by connecting device specific applications through to the customer’s IFS Applications system by using a middle tier platform called IFS Touch Apps Server.

Business logic that is specific to the Touch Apps runs in the IFS Touch Apps Server and is contained within units called Resources. Resources are named after the architectural pattern used to access them - RESTful architecture. In brief, this architectural model uses the HTTP standard to interact with objects. This means that any mobile device be it an iPhone or an Android phone, or any other internet enabled device for that matter can access the Resources in the IFS Touch Apps Server.

The IFS Touch Apps Server is installed at the customer site and connects directly with the customer's IFS Applications installation. The IFS Touch Apps Server requires a public IP address to allow the IFS Touch Apps to connect to it when required.
