DHCP Support and Installations on Multihomed Computers

DHCP

Static IP is strongly recommended regardless of the type of installation.

Managed Servers and Host Name

In the installer it is possible to specify the IP address instead of hostname. Even though the installer suggests the hostname; this field is editable and can be changed to the IP address if preferred.

Installing on Multihomed Computers

A multihomed computer is associated with multiple IP addresses. This is typically achieved by having multiple network cards on the computer. Each IP address is associated with a host name.

Multihomed computers can cause problems for IFS Middleware Server as it looks up the IP address and might be the cause of problems similar to "Failure of Server apache bridge".
In the hosts file add a line specifying the host the managed server(s) are listening to along with its ip address.
Example
