IFS Data Migration Excel Add-in

This document describes how to install the Data Migration Excel Add-in in a computer. For instructions on adding files into the ClickOnce deployment, please refer the Deployment Guide.

Prerequisites

• Microsoft Office Excel 2010 or later
• Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 or later
• Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime

Last two prerequisites will be automatically installed by the installers if not available.

Installation

Data Migration Microsoft Excel Add-in can be installed in multiple ways:

1. Go to IFS Application Server webpage and navigate to the Add-ons page. Click the relevant link and it would automatically download and install the add-in.
2. By manually executing the VSTO setup file.

   ” fndmig\client\officeaddins\fndmigexceladdin\setup.exe”

3. By building the component via IFS Configuration builder and then use IFS Applications Installation Wizard (setup.exe).

   Depending on the version of installed MS Excel, you have to choose "IFS Data Migration Excel Add-In" in section "Installation Components".

   For 32bit MS Excel, you have to choose "IFS Data Migration Excel Add-In (32-bit)”

   For 64bit MS Excel, you have to choose "IFS Data Migration Excel Add-In (64-bit)”

4. By manually running the relevant Microsoft Installer.

   You have to choose MSI package, depending on version of installed MS Excel.

   For 32bit MS Excel, you can install from "fndmig\win32client\IFS Data Migration Excel Add-In (64-bit)\Install\Ifs.Application.Fndmig.ExcelAddinSetup.msi”

   For 64bit MS Excel, you can install from "fndmig\win32client\IFS Data Migration Excel Add-In (32-bit)\Install\Ifs.Application.Fndmig.ExcelAddinSetup.msi”

Versioning

The version of any given Office Add-In will be its Click-Once deployment version and the meaning of each section will be as follows,

A.B.C.D

• A - IFS application version
• B - Minimum IFS application update compatible with the addin
• C - Addin binary patch version as released by R&D
• D - Revision number
   

For example: 10.0.1.1

• IFS applications 10
• Core release
• Binary patch 1
• Revision 1

Security

Permission set "FNDMIG_EXCEL_ADDIN" needs to be granted for an End User to run the add-in. If the permission-set does not exist after installation it should be created manually (Run fndmig\database\fndmig\security_fndmig_excel_addin.ins).

Uninstalling

• Go to installed program list in the control panel
• Select “IFS Data Migration Excel Add-in”, and then click Remove or Uninstall.
