SQL Server Named Instances

Analysis Models supports SQL Server Named Instances. Learn how by following the instructions on this page.
The example is from an old version of SQL Server, but should apply to later versions as well.

Configure Analysis Models to use a SQL Server Named Instance

1. Open the Reporting Services Configuration Manager and connect to the SQL Server that you wish to configure.

2. Open the Web Service URL window and modify the TCP Port in the Report Server Web Service Site Identification group box with an available port of your choice.

3. Click the Advanced button to open the Advanced Multiple Web Site Configuration dialog.

4. Click the Edit button to open the Edit a Report Server HTTP URL dialog and modify the TCP Port to the same port as in the Report Server Web Service Site Identification group box.

Note: The Report Server Web Service Virtual Directory must be ReportServer.

5. Open the Report Manager URL window and click the Advanced button.

6. Click the Edit button in the Advanced Multiple Web Site Configuration dialog.

7. Modify the TCP Port in the Edit a Report Manager HTTP URL dialog. It should be the same port as for the Report Server Web Service.

Note: The Report Manager Site Identification Virtual Directory must be Reports.

8. Start IFS EE of the IFS Applications installation that you are configuring.

9. Open Business Reportering & Analysis - System Parameters in the Solution Manager and edit the parameter named Base URL for MS Reporting Services to use the new base URL.

10. Restart IFS EE and verify that the new base URL is used.
