Customization Projects

The IFS Customization Project can be used to create Customization projects by consulting organizations. Customer information is loaded through a customer information file (*.cif , *.cifx). Customer projects and installations can be customized for a particular project.

NOTE: For projects which support layered architecture (i.e. version 9.0 and above) the layer is set to 'Cust'

Creating Project

1. From the main menu in the main window, choose File > New Project. In the New Project wizard, select IFS Customization Project under IFS category and click Next.
2. Setup Name, Location, and Target Version
3. Setup From CIF/CIFX file
   Select customer information file for the project. When Target Version is 8.0 or greater .cifx file should be selected. For Target Version 7.5 .cif file should be selected.
4. Setup Technologies
5. Setup Databases
6. Setup Harvest
   Enter the VCS information in the Harvest panel.
7. Setup Services Layer (This step is only needed/available if Technology Services Layer is selected.)
8. Project Root Set the Shared Project Root of the environment for the project to Synchronize Libraries. (This step is only needed/available if Technology Services Layer or Web Client or is selected.)
9. Click Finish to create the project.
