Assign Serials and/or Crew

Explanation

This activity is used to create or modify the operational events and personnel for each operational event. 

You can assign vehicles to the different operational events and plan the personnel needed for each event. You also can follow up on each operational event, for example, changing the vehicle for an operational event if such a change is required. When an operational plan is completed, the number of operational events corresponds to the number of vehicles on the items. The part numbers and serial numbers of these operations are not shown and must be entered in the respective fields. Note: If an operational plan is to be executed daily, you can select the applicable row from the table and select Generate Events option to generate the daily events. For more information, refer to the activity Generate an Operational Event.

When a serial is assigned to an operational plan, you will receive indications when a serial has overdue interval maintenance or pending maintenance operations.

Assign vehicles or crew to an operational event:

• To assign vehicles, open the Operational Planning window and search for the necessary operational plan. Create a new record in the Assign Vehicles and Crew tab.
• To assign personnel (crew) to an operational event, select the relevant row from the Assign Vehicles and Crew tab and expand the nested list. In there, you can assign personnel to the selected operational event.

To assign vehicles or crew to a serial:

• Open the Operation Events per Vehicle page and search for the necessary serial and click New Ad Hoc Event option. New Ad Hoc Operational Event assistant opens and there you can create an operational event, connect that event to an operational plan and also assign personnel to the event. Refer to the activity Create Ad Hoc Operational Event for more information.
• To assign personnel for an operational event already assigned to the serial, select the relevant row from the table and expand the nested list.

Note: If the event is generated from an operational plan, the description of the operational plan appears by default in the Operational Event Description field. The default value can be changed if needed.

Prerequisites

• The operational plan must be completed (i.e., the Plan Complete option must be enabled in the Operational Planning page). For more information, refer to the activity Set Operational Plan Complete.

System Effects

• Vehicles are assigned to the different operational events.
• The personnel for each operational event is registered.
