Create Task

Explanation

You can create maintenance tasks using the Create New Task assistant.

You can open the Create New Task assistant from the following pages:

When you select Create New Task, choose how to create the work:

For both options, specify the Aircraft, which is pre-filled where possible. You can assign the new task to an existing work package using Assigned to Work Package, or, in line maintenance, turn on Create Work Package to create a new package as part of the same action. Assigned to Work Package and Assigned to Work Package Name are used when Create Work Package is off. See Create New Work Package.

Create task based on task definition

When you select Create Task Based on Task Definition, you can create tasks only from on-condition task definitions. The assistant shows current approved on-condition definitions that are active for the selected aircraft. FOLLOW requirements that are linked to an active REPREF definition are not listed. Requirement definitions assigned to a maintenance program are not listed.

Complete these steps:

  1. Select a Configuration slot on the aircraft (position or system).
  2. (Optional) Include on-condition definitions on sub-configuration slots.
  3. Select an on-condition task definition from the list.
  4. Review the read-only preview of job cards (JICs) when the definition is not directly executable.

Select Save or Save & Open:

On the Task Details page, the following fields help you confirm which definition the task came from:

Create ad-hoc task

When you select Create Ad-hoc Task, define the work without a task definition:

Select Save or Save & Open to create the task and assign it to the work package.

Tasks you create using this activity can be cancelled when they are in Active or Committed status. For more information, see Cancel Task.

Note: In release 26R2, you cannot create tasks from CORR class task definitions using this assistant.

Note: To create on-condition tasks from Maintenance Execution, the user's organization must be set for the user on the CAMO side.
