Create stock numbers

When creating stock, you create the stock number first and then add parts to the stock number.

Maintenix automatically calculates the value of most stock number attributes, including monthly demand, cost information, and order information. If you manually override the value of an attribute that Maintenix has calculated, Maintenix does not recalculate or update this value when changes are made.

  1. To create a stock number, on the Stock Search page, click Create Stock.
  2. On the Create Stock page, provide the requested information. Note the following:
    • Auto Create PO: Select this option to enable Maintenix to automatically create POs for this stock number when the stock low action automatically generates a purchase request.
    • Auto Issue PO: Select this option to enable Maintenix to automatically issue the PO created in response to the stock low action.
    • ABC Classification: You can select a class, but the class for the stock number is not tied to auto recalculation of the ABC class for the parts in the stock number. You can select a class if it's useful to see it for the stock number.
  3. Click OK.
  4. To add parts to a stock number, on the Stock Details page, Details tab, Assigned Parts area, click Assign Part .
  5. On the Part Search page, enter your search criteria, and click Search.
  6. From the search results, select a part or parts and click Assign Part.
To specify the quantity of the stock that should be stored at a supply location or at a warehouse location, and to select the stock low action, set the stock level.
