Mobile picking and delivery

You can pick and deliver parts requested for task-based or ad hoc part requests using a mobile device.

You can view locally reserved inventory that resides in your department but isn't assigned yet for picking on the Pick Inventory page, Unassigned tab. The Unassigned tab displays:
  • the location and date by which it is needed
  • the requested quantity
  • the details of the reserved inventory.
Hazmat and AOG part requests are indicated using icons on the part request, as follows:

– AOG priority

– Hazardous parts

Part requests with AOG priority appear first in the list, while others are sorted by the needed by date. You can also filter part requests as needed. If no filter is applied, all part requests needed within 48 hours of the current date are shown.

You can then assign the part request to yourself for picking. Once a part request has been assigned, it is not available for assignment by someone else and appears on the Pick List tab. You can see part requests that you have assigned to yourself for picking along with the following details:

  • the current location of the inventory
  • the OEM part number
  • the serial or batch number of the inventory
  • the needed by date
  • the location the inventory is needed

  • the aircraft registration number.
Part requests in the Pick List tab are ordered first by the AOG priority, followed by the ascending bin route order and finally by the alphabetical order of the location code.

To pick inventory, you can scan the inventory barcode. Alternatively, you can enter the part and inventory details of either the locally reserved inventory, or a valid alternate part. In the case of part requests for batch inventory, you can pick a partial quantity, if required.

If inventory is stolen through manual reservation, from a picked part request for another part request, it results in the following:
  • The reserved inventory is removed from the picked part request.
  • The status of the picked part request is Open.
  • The pick status of the picked part request is Unassigned, and the user assigned to pick the part is unassigned from the part request.
  • If the picked inventory was attached to a pending shipment, the pending shipment is canceled.
After inventory has been picked, the part request appears in the Delivery List tab along with all other part requests that are ready to be issued. Ad-hoc part requests are grouped by the needed by location and all parts requested for a work package will be grouped together. The number of inventory items to be issued is displayed, for each group. Part requests that are grouped by the work packages are sorted by their scheduled date while ad-hoc requests to be issued to a single needed by location are sorted by the nearest needed by date.

To issue inventory you can scan or type the inventory to be issued and the received by user. When you issue inventory, the part request is updated to the COMPLETED pick status.

Pre-draw picked inventory

Maintenix can be configured to pre-draw inventory picked to fulfill part requests, until they are ready to be issued. Once the ENABLE_PRE-DRAW_WHEN_PICKING configuration parameter is enabled:
  • For ad-hoc part requests, inventory is pre-drawn to the pre-draw location under the supply location.
  • For task part requests with work packages, inventory moves to a pre-draw bin created for the work package if one exists. If one does not, a pre-draw bin is created with the work package name.

If you wish to pre-draw picked inventory, then you must ensure that the supply location has a single pre-draw location.
