MS Teams Integration for Mobile Apps

With Microsoft Teams Integration, using deep links, mobile users can collaborate with their contacts by initiating a chat or calls via Microsoft Teams app from the IFS mobile app with a single click from the contact widget. The user can also view the contact's MS Teams presence on the contact widget.

Configuration

Setup instructions are the same as for IFS Cloud Web, with additional setup steps specific to the mobile apps. Steps below will link back to the Cloud Web instructions. See MS Teams Integration for more information.

Pre-requisite for mobile devices:

  • Microsoft Teams app should be installed on the mobile devices, from the relevant App Stores.
    • If not installed, users will be only prompted to download the app from the Stores to continue. Users on Windows have the option to continue on the web browser if the app is not installed.

Follow the setup instructions below in order to use MS Teams integration on the IFS Cloud mobile apps:

  1. Complete App registration on Azure portal.
This is shared for Web and Mobile clients. Follow Add Azure App Registration.

  2. Add Redirect URIs for the mobile app on Azure portal.

    See section below for instructions.

  3. Configure MS Teams Integration System Parameters.

This is shared for Web and Mobile clients. Follow Configure System Parameters. Ensure System Parameters for MS Teams are configured and enabled.

  4. Enable MS Integration App Parameters per mobile app.

Ensure the MS_TEAMS_ENABLED Application Parameter for the app is ENABLED.

Registering App Redirect URIs

Each mobile app requires its own Redirect URIs to be configured in Azure portal; one for Android & iOS, and one for Windows app. The Redirect URIs to be used can be found on its relevant page under IFS Cloud Mobile Business Apps. These redirect URIs are not the same as IAM redirect URIs, and have the following formats:

  • iOS/Android: msauth://{AppID}
  • Windows: ms-appx-web://microsoft.aad.brokerplugin/{SID}, where SID is the unique identifier for the Windows app

Steps:

  1. On the Azure portal, go to Authentication.

  2. Add the two redirect URIs for each app.

Using MS Teams on Mobile apps

When MS Teams Integration is configured on the environment, and enabled for the app, the contact widgets on the mobile app will display options to initiate audio call, video call, chat on the MS Teams app.

  • Audio Call, Video Call and Chat
    • The user can initiate an audio call, video call or chat from the contact widget, and via deep links the MS Teams app will be launched with the respective action.
  • Contact Presence
    • To view contact's MS Teams presence, user must log into their organizational Microsoft account. Once logged in, the contact widget will also display the status.
