About Monitoring

The ability to monitor the installation and get system reports is essential to be able to take needed actions if anything unexpected should happen or if any normal activity that happens occasionally needs attention. Monitoring is also about the ability to log activities in the system.

IFS Applications offers a set of different monitoring capabilities. History Log can be turned on per Logical Unit to keep track on all data edits done to the Logical Unit. This log can keep track of what data that is changed, when and by whom. Application Monitoring Console keeps track of things that may need attention, like number of waiting background jobs. What the monitoring console should monitor is something that can be configured. Database sessions shows all current running sessions in IFS Applications. To get more technical information about activities reported from the underlying database the Database Alert Log will report about about the this. All alerts from the database are shown in the Oracle Alert Log window.
