How to Configure IFS Configuration Builder

The Configuration Builder needs to know where to find the Release Repository Catalog and the Customer Configuration file. This guide will describe how you get the tool ready for performing the process tasks.

Prerequisites

The IFS Configuration Builder must have been started according to How to Start IFS Configuration Builder.

You must have retrieved a Customer Configuration file from GCDB, and you must know where you have the current IFS Applications release (probably in the Archive folder on your local file server). The RRC file that comes with the release located in the _ConfigBuilder\RRC folder is a template and can be used as is, or you will create a local copy of the file. Instructions for local copy is located in the same folder.
See more about the RRC file and Customer Configuration file.

Process

You will define the path to the RRC, either by pointing out the Release Archive Folder or to your modified RRC file, and the Customer Configuration file.
If the tool has been run before on the client, and saved Configuration Builder user profile is found, the profile will be read and previous configuration will be presented to you.
