Whenever a cost is reported against an aviation task, the system creates an aviation task transaction. Finance controllers use the Aviation Task Transactions list and detail pages to search, review, authorize, and trace transactions through to vouchers.
A transaction is created when costs are reported for:
Each transaction carries accounting information derived from pre-posting and your organization's posting control setup.
A transaction moves through the following statuses during its lifecycle:
The Finally Posted indicator on the aviation task transaction and on the related cost line shows when finance processing for that cost is complete and no further reposting or transfer is expected.
Material cost transactions also link to the standard Inventory Transactions History page. Use the Inventory Transaction ID on the work package cost line or transaction to navigate to the inventory movement.
You can also open a transaction from a cost line on Hangar Maintenance Work Package Commercials or Line Maintenance Work Package Commercials by clicking the Task Transaction ID.
From the list, run Check and Update Accounting on a selected transaction when reposting is needed. See Check and Update Accounting of Transaction.
The General tab shows transaction identification, task barcode, site, company, transaction type, dates, cost amount, resource details, comments, and current status.
The Accounting tab shows accounting lines derived from pre-posting and posting control. Each line can be in status Valid, Error, Transferred, or Not Applicable. Lines in status Error must be corrected before the transaction can be authorized or transferred.
Accounting lines must be in status Valid before you authorize or transfer the transaction. After transfer, each line displays a Voucher ID that you can navigate to the standard Voucher page. Before transfer, the voucher ID is empty.
Use page commands to navigate to the related aviation task or to Aviation Task Posting Analysis. You can delete a transaction while it is in status Reported.
Before aviation task transactions can be transferred to IFS/Accounting Rules, a finance controller must authorize them. Authorization applies to personnel time, tool and equipment, expense, and external cost transactions. Material transactions from inventory issues and purchases are transferred using the standard Transfer Inventory Transactions and Transfer Purchase Transactions assistants after authorization. See Transfer Aviation Task Transactions.
Only Authorized transactions are picked up by transfer assistants. If a transaction is authorized but not yet transferred, you can click Revoke Authorization to return it to Reported for review.
Finance controllers can view, filter, and analyze accounting postings generated from aviation task transactions on the Aviation Task Posting Analysis page.
