Add Skill Requirement
Explanation
Line supervisors add skill requirements to an aircraft turn on the Turn Work Assignments page
in IFS Cloud Web. A skill requirement is the skill needed to complete the turn and the duration of the work. You
must be online to add skill requirements to a turn.
If default skills are defined for the aircraft type and work type on the Default Turn Resource
Requirements page, those skills appear automatically when a turn work assignment record is created. See
Define Default Turn Resource Requirements. You can
add further skill requirements, change the duration, and remove a skill that has not been assigned to a
technician.
If no skill requirements exist, the turn work assignment status is No Required Skills. After
you add the required skills, you can assign technicians to the turn. See Assign Technicians to Turns.
Assigned To, Start Time, and End Time on the Work
Assignments list are set when you assign a technician. They are not part of this activity.
You can also add a skill requirement to a task or fault. The added skill indicates the skill required for the
task and the number of hours required to complete the work. You can modify the number of hours required for the
skill and remove a skill, provided that the task has not been completed or the fault has not been closed. After
skills have been added, you can assign one or more skills to yourself and unassign them if required. You can also
perform and record work on the task or fault when you do not possess the skills or skills have not been assigned.
To assign a person as well as the skill, see Assign and Edit
Labor and Skills.
Prerequisites
- To add a skill requirement to a turn, the status of the aircraft turn must be Inbound,
Arrived, or In Maintenance. See Review
Aircraft Turn.
- Flights must have been transferred to Maintenance Execution, and the workscope must have been published.
- Skills must be defined as resource groups of type Person. See Define a New Skill.
- Optionally, define default skills for the aircraft type and work type on the Default Turn Resource

Work.
- To add a skill requirement to a fault, the status of the fault is Open or
Deferred.

System Effects
- The skill requirement is added to the aircraft turn and is displayed in the Work Assignments

technicians to the turn.
- The skill requirement is added to the task or fault and can be viewed from the Task Skills

fault, it can be viewed from both the Task Skills and Fault Skills pages.

page.
