After a kit part definition is defined, you can create actual
kit inventory. Based on the kit part request number or the kit part number, you create a kit
inventory item in Maintenix.
Depending on your role, your starting point for
this task can vary.
- Do one of the following:
- On your To Do
List
Open Part Request
tab, click the Create Kit
Inventory For Request button.
Note: Part requests for work packages show on this tab.
- On the kit Part Request Details or
kit Part Details
page, click Create Kit
Inventory.
Note: To see the button on
the Part Request Details page, the Part Request status must be OPEN.
- On the Create Inventory page,
provide the requested information and click OK.
Tip: You can search for part numbers,
locations, owners, dates, and credit accounts by clicking
Search

. You can generate a
serial number by clicking
Generate Serial Number

.
- On the Edit Inventory page, enter
the requested information, and click:
- Next to move to the next editing page.
- Apply to save your changes and continue
working.
- Previous to return to the previous
editing page.
- Finish to save your changes and return
to the Inventory
Details page.
- Cancel to discard your changes and
return to the Inventory
Details page.
On the kit Inventory Details page, the status of the
kit is INCOMPLETE and the kit is listed on the Incomplete Kits tab on the Storeroom
Clerk or Material Controller To Do List. The kit can now be assembled.
