Receive and activate airworthiness directives
When you receive an airworthiness directive (AD), complete the following work flow to add the AD to Maintenix and activate it for compliance work.
-
Create a reference document to represent the original AD. Do one of the following:
- Create an airframe AD, if you need to track the status at the aircraft level.
- Create a sub-assembly AD, if you need to track the status at the engine level.
- Create a component AD, if you need to track the status at the component level, for example, landing gear.
-
Attach or link the original AD issued by the regulatory
body to the reference AD created in Maintenix. The choice to add the AD as an attachment or IETM reference link is dependent on how
your organization operates. Do one of the following:
- Link a document as a technical reference.
- Add a document as an attachment.
- Disposition the AD reference document to specify how to handle the information or instruction included in the document. If the AD is not applicable to your fleet, select the disposition reason as NA (Not Applicable).
