Warehouse stock levels

Setting warehouse stock levels enables you to specify the number of items that should be kept at each warehouse location so that Maintenix takes action to maintain the specified stock levels.

For each stock number, you can set a stock level to specify the quantity of stock to store at a warehouse location. To maintain the stock levels that you set for a warehouse, Maintenix requires the following information:

  • Restock Level

  • Max Level

  • Stock Low Action

If theĀ Stock Low Action is set to generate stock distribution requests (DISTREQ), when the quantity of inventory for a stock number drops below the Restock Level, stock distribution requests are automatically generated to replenish the stock to the Max Level (if defined) by transferring inventory from the supplier bin location to the requesting bin location. If you have not specified a Max Level, stock distribution requests are generated to replenish the stock to the Restock Level.

Note: Picked stock is moved to a bin location in the requesting warehouse if a bin level is set, and/or if an inventory owner is specified. Otherwise, the picked stock will be moved to the requesting warehouse.

After you set stock levels for a warehouse, you can adjust them based on projected demand. If a warehouse serves a particular maintenance location and you know demand for a stock number will increase or decrease for an upcoming program, you can edit the stock levels to meet the demand for the duration of the program and then reset the levels.

Alternatively, for stock that you don't want replenished automatically, you can set the Stock Low Action to manual intervention (MANUAL). In this case stock distribution requests are not created and instead you must manually create inventory transfers to replenish the stock.

Warehouse Stock Levels tab

On the Warehouse Stock Levels tab of the Stock Details page, you can do the following for a stock number:

  • Create and edit stock levels.

  • Remove stock levels.

  • See all stock levels that are set at various warehouse locations and who owns the inventory (if defined).

  • See the availability of inventory for each stock level, such as how many serviceable items are available, reserved, have pending transfers, and are part of a kit.

  • MANUAL: Stock distribution requests are not automatically generated. If this value is selected, you must manually create inventory transfers.
