Large Volume Media Archiving
Large Volume Media Archiving is a type of data archiving whereby media items
such as images and audio can be archived to achieve better application performance.
Archiving can be done using one of the below methods based on the
availability
- Azure Blob Storage
The Azure Blob Storage method is recommended if there is an Azure account
with BLOB storage capability. The media archive supports both HTTP and
HTTPS, when creating an Azure storage account if the property Secure
Transfer Required is enabled HTTPS must be used to communicate with the
Azure storage account. To support HTTPS, Oracle Wallet must be created
first.
When it comes to media archiving, a container within Azure acts as the
archiving location. Therefore it is recommended that a container with access
type private is created so that no one from outside can access the
content of the archive. If you are planning to use the same Azure account
over multiple IFS Application instances (e.g., Production, Test), the
recommendation is to create a container per IFS Application instance to
prevent possible overwrites.
- Oracle File Storage
The Oracle File
Storage method can be used when the Azure Blob Storage option is not available.
A network location or folder on the server where Oracle is installed can be used
as an archive for the media items.
