Review Location, Parts, Tools, and Flight Schedule

Explanation

Use this activity to review location capability, parts and tools capacity, and the aircraft flight schedule before you schedule or reschedule a LINE work package. These three reviews appear in both:

They are subprocesses of 7.46 Line Maintenance Planning. See Line Maintenance Planning.

On 7.46.4.1 Schedule Work Package, after the three reviews, decide:

If both are yes, schedule the work package. See Schedule Work Package. If either is no, update the work package and review again. See Reschedule Work Package.

When hangar maintenance is required, for example because of skill shortages or time allocation mismatches, complete the same reviews, then reschedule the LIne Work Package package to a hangar location. See Reschedule Work Package.

This activity is a review. It does not change the work package schedule.

Prerequisites

Procedure

Open the work package from the Open Work Packages page or the Work Package Details page.

Review location capability

  1. On the Work Package Details page, open the Schedule Work Package - Internal assistant.
  2. Review Scheduled Location.
  3. Turn on Only Show Capable Locations to list only locations that can handle the work package.
  4. Confirm that the location type matches the work. Maintenance location types include Line, Track, and Hangar. If hangar maintenance is required, confirm that a hangar location is available.
  5. If required, open the Aircraft in Maintenance page to see which aircraft are currently in maintenance when you judge location availability.
  6. Select Cancel if you are only reviewing. Do not select OK unless you are scheduling or rescheduling. See Schedule Work Package and Reschedule Work Package.

Review parts and tools capacity

  1. On the Work Package Details page, open the Parts tab. The tab displays required parts for tasks. See About Hangar Maintenance Work Packaging.
  2. Open the Tools tab. The tab lists tools needed for tasks.
  3. If required, open the Aviation Tool Search page in CAMO to search whether the required tools or parts exist before you confirm the scheduled location.
  4. Check whether the required parts and tools can be fulfilled at the scheduled location in the planned window. After the work package is defined and scheduled, request the parts before you commit. The system automatically requests the required parts. Any part request that cannot be fulfilled with current stock is requested from material management personnel. See Line Maintenance Planning and Auto Reservation of Tools / KITs / Parts.

Assigning unassigned parts is a later step after the work package is scheduled. It is not part of this review.

Note: The My Part Requests page and the Tool Equipment Checkout page are Line Maintenance Execution pages. Use them after the work package is published to a turn, when you request material or check out tools for a task. They are not used for this CAMO planning review. See Add Part Requirement and Check Out Tools or Equipment.

Review aircraft flight schedule

  1. Open the Flights page for the aircraft.
  2. Compare the scheduled arrival and departure with the work package Scheduled Start and Scheduled End on Schedule Work Package - Internal or Work Package Details.
  3. Decide whether the flight schedule matches the maintenance window, and whether the window still aligns with the aircraft turn where execution will happen. See Schedule Work Package.
  4. If an inbound flight is later so that scheduled arrival is after the work package scheduled start, or an outbound flight is earlier so that scheduled departure is before the work package scheduled start, Line Maintenance Execution can keep showing the work package on the original turn until the Line Planner reschedules the work package in CAMO and publishes.

This procedure does not create or edit flights. To add or update flights, see Add/Update Flights.

If the flight schedule does not match the maintenance window, or the facility is not capable of executing the work package, update the schedule and review again. See Reschedule Work Package. If both match, schedule the work package. See Schedule Work Package.
