Start work on tasks

Start a task by starting a labor row that is in the task. The labor row identifies a skill needed to complete some or all of the work.

  • The work package containing the task is started.
  1. Find a task by doing one of the following:
    • In the Barcode Search field, scan or enter the barcode of the task, and press Enter.
    • On the Task Search page, enter your search criteria, and click Search.
    • On your to-do list, My Tasks tab, select the check box of the task.
  2. Depending on the page shown on the screen, do one of the following:
    • On the Task Details page, Task Execution tab, under Labor, select a labor row.
    • On the My Tasks tab, select a task.
  3. Click Start.
  4. If prompted, enter your password and click OK. The task status changes to In Work.
When you finish your work on the task, or stop working on it before it is completed, for example, because of a shift change, you record the stoppage in Maintenix, and record the details of the work you have done.
