Orders
When the inventory that you need is not available at your location, you create an order.
You can create the following types of orders:
- Purchase
- Exchange
- Borrow
- Repair
- Consignment
- Consignment exchange
- Order Type: Maintenix uses different order types to model different situations.
- Part or Service Information: Each order contains order lines that detail the parts or services in question.
- Vendor Information: Information about the vendor supplying the part or service.
- Financial information: Information about the payment terms and price of the product or service, including any other taxes and charges.
- Transportation information: Information about how and where the parts are moved, including the transportation type, the ship-to location—usually the local dock—and the expected by date.
After you create an order, you can edit it, and depending on the type of order, you can add parts to the order, add non-part items such as warranties and insurance, add customs and shipping charges, and add taxes.
If you update the Ship To location on a purchase, repair, or exchange order, this information is updated on the inbound shipment as long as the shipment is still pending (PEND status). After all or part of a shipment is in progress, you cannot update shipping information on an order. If you want to change where inbound inventory is shipped to, you do it directly on the shipment.
