Bulk export and import of bin route order

You can update the route order of multiple bin locations at a time, via bulk export and import.

You can export the route order for existing bin locations, from Maintenix to a comma separated value (.csv) file, for analysis and updates. Once the updates are made, you can import the file to Maintenix to reflect the new or modified route order.

Export Bin Route Order

You can export the bin route order for all bin locations from the Bin Route Order tab page on the Bulk Export and Import tab of your to-do list. A typical export file contains all route order details for bin locations, as defined in Maintenix. Once exported, you can update the file by adding or modifying the route order.

Update Bin Route Order

You can add or modify the route order for existing bin locations. However, removing existing bin locations in the file does not result in removing them from Maintenix, when imported. If you want to clear the route order of a bin location from Maintenix, delete the route order value for the required bin location.

To ensure a successful import, while updating the file, you must retain the name and number of columns for recording route order data, in their exported format. You must also input only valid information, taking care to ensure the route order details being imported comply with the following criteria:
  • The bin location and parent location should already exist in Maintenix.
  • The bin location must be assigned to the parent location in Maintenix.
  • The route order is a valid number.

Import Bin Route Order

You can import the route order for all bin locations on the Bin Route Order tab of the Bulk Export and Import tab of your to-do list. A typical import file contains the updated route order, for all bin locations predefined in Maintenix.

File Import Statuses

When you select your import file and proceed to import, you can view the status of the import. Possible statuses are as follows:
  • Queued - the import file has been uploaded or queued for uploading.
  • Processing - the uploaded data will be validated and continue to either the Imported or the Errors Logged status.
  • Imported - all the data in the file is valid and has been updated accordingly in Maintenix.
  • Errors Logged - some or all of the data in the import file is invalid, in which case only the valid data has been imported and updated.
You can view an error log with reasons for the failure of the import due to invalid data, in the event that the imported file has the Errors Logged status
