Inspect inventory as unserviceable

Inventory items that are received and that require inspection, appear on your Inspection Required To-Do List tab. If an item is unserviceable, you inspect it as unserviceable, attach an unserviceable part tag, and physically separate this inventory from serviceable items.

Before you record that you inspected inventory as unserviceable, update the inventory details with any technical information that's appropriate for the item. If there is a work package associated with the unserviceable inventory, complete the work package as unserviceable.
  1. Find the inventory by doing one of the following:
    • On your to-do list, Inspection Required or Quarantine tab, select the item.
    • Entering the item's barcode in the Search field.
  2. Click Inspect As Unserviceable.
  3. On the Inspect as Unserviceable page, provide the required information. Note the following:
    • Alert Technical Records: Select the technical records department to review the item if the inventory has a maintenance program or was received after a repair.
If the option to Inspect As Unserviceable is unavailable, the work package may need to be closed.
  4. Enter your user name and password if prompted.
    The Unserviceable Part Tag opens.
  5. Attach the Unserviceable Part Tag to the inventory and place it in the appropriate area.

The inventory now appears on the Unserviceable Staging tab.
