Storage maintenance

Loose, serviceable inventory in the warehouse can require periodic maintenance. For example, seals might need lubrication, or you might need to visually inspect components sitting on the shelf.

These tasks are modeled with task definitions and you can track and assign off-wing maintenance from your to-do list’s Storage Maintenance tab.The tab lists components at your location that are not installed on an aircraft, but that have upcoming maintenance tasks to be completed while the components are in storage. The tab does not list unserviceable components.

The appropriate role needs to create a requirement (task definition) for storage maintenance. You can then use the Storage Maintenance tab to find inventory in your location that's due for maintenance, create and schedule internal or external work packages, move items to the appropriate shop, or package and complete tasks.

When you create a requirement for a storage task, note the following fields or options:
  • Requirement Type: select Part Number
  • Scheduling Details: select the Recurring check box
  • Create/Cancel on Install: select Cancel on Install or Cancel on Aircraft Install
  • Create/Cancel on Removal: select Create on Removal or Create on Aircraft Removal
  • Schedule From: select Received Date
  • Planning Details: Do not select the On Condition check box.
