Kits
Kits are comprised of multiple items such as aircraft parts, consumables, and tools that are used together to carry out a specific task. Kit inventory is created in a way similar to other inventory items; however, certain activities apply only to kits. These include:
- Assembling a kit from inventory in stock.
- Adding missing items to a kit.
- Removing items that do not belong in a kit.
- Identifying incomplete kits.
- Identifying over-complete kits.
To perform any of these activities on a kit, the kit definition must be complete, and the inventory item for the kit must exist in Maintenix. A kit definition is complete if the kit has a part number, and if the part numbers and quantity of the items that make up the kit have been specified.
After assembling a kit, you can seal it to prevent any further changes. If a kit is sealed, its Inventory Details page displays a banner to highlight this fact.
