Review Skill Capacity

Explanation

Use this activity to review whether the required skills and hours can be fulfilled in the next planning window. This is part of 7.46.1.1 Review all Upcoming Maintenance Requirements, after you confirm that a requirement is due and after you review location capacity. See Line Maintenance Planning.

On the process, review aircraft flight schedule, location capacity, skill capacity, then parts and tools. For location, parts, tools, and flight schedule, see Review Location, Parts, Tools, and Flight Schedule. If skill shortages mean the work cannot be done on the line, the Line Planner can later schedule the LINE work package at an intermediary hangar location. See Reschedule Work Package.

This activity is a review. It does not assign technicians or change skill requirements. To add or assign skills in Line Maintenance Execution, see Add Skill Requirement, Assign and Edit Labor and Skills, and Assign Technicians to Turns.

Use the following pages in CAMO:

After a work package is published, you can also review skills in Line Maintenance Execution. Those pages show turn assignments and sign-off skills on the published package. They are not the CAMO planning estimate.

Prerequisites

Procedure

Review labor estimates on a work package

  1. Open the work package from the Open Work Packages page or the Work Package Details page.
  2. Open the Labor tab. The tab shows labor estimates for the work package.
  3. Compare the required skills and hours with the capacity available at the scheduled location in the planned window.
  4. If required, open an assigned or unassigned task and review Labor on the Open Task page, including skill, stage, work performed scheduled hours, certification required, and independent inspection.

Do not assign technicians during this review.

Review skill capacity on a turn

Use this procedure in Line Maintenance Execution after the work package is published. It shows required skills and resource availability for the aircraft turn.

  1. Go to Aviation Maintenance > Line Maintenance > Line Maintenance Execution > Mobile Maintenance > Work Management > Turn Work Assignments. You can also open this page from Station Turns or Aircraft Turn Details.
  2. Select the turn. Review aircraft, airport, arrival time, departure time, work package, work type, maintenance location, duration, and work package scheduled start and end.
  3. In Work Assignments, review Required Skill, Duration (HH:MM), Assigned To, Start Time, and End Time. If no skills exist, the turn work assignment status is No Required Skills.
  4. In Resources, review resource ID, description, and skills. Use the timeline to see resource availability over the turn window.
  5. Decide whether the required skills can be fulfilled in the window. If they cannot, consider a hangar location. See Review Location, Parts, Tools, and Flight Schedule and Reschedule Work Package.

Review sign-off skills on a work package in Line Maintenance Execution

  1. Go to Aviation Maintenance > Line Maintenance > Line Maintenance Execution > Mobile Maintenance > Line Maintenance Work Package Execution.
  2. Select the work package.
  3. Select Sign-Off Skills to review the technician certifications or skills required to sign off the work.
  4. If required, select Labor Summary to review scheduled hours by skill.
