Changing order types

You can change a previously created order to another type of order.

You can convert an active borrow order to a purchase order if you decide to buy a part instead of borrowing one. Converting a borrow order to a purchase order may result in additional borrow charges if the borrowed item was received before the order was converted. This might affect the authorization level required for the new purchase order.

You can also convert an active borrow order to an exchange order if you want to exchange a part instead of borrowing.

To exchange a part instead of repair it, you can also convert the order line for the part's inventory from repair to exchange. If all order lines on the repair order are converted to exchange, the order will be converted to an exchange order. Once the order information has been modified, you can review the order, request authorization and approve it, accordingly.
