Orders
When the inventory that you need is not available at your location, you create an order.

You can create purchase orders to procure parts and services from vendors when a part request for a part requirement on a task cannot be fulfilled with local inventory.

On the order details page, Order Lines tab, click Add Part Line.
On the Add Part PO Line page, provide the requested information and click OK.

- Orders
  When the inventory that you need is not available at your location, you create an order.
  - Auto-created orders
    When the stock low action is POREQ and the stock number is configured for auto-creation and auto-issue of purchase orders, the purchase contact on the automatically created orders is the MXPURCHASE system user.
  - Find orders by purchase type
    You can search for orders by purchase type to find orders you're responsible for or to assign them to the appropriate person. For example, one person might process all orders for a particular ATA chapter.
  - Change purchase contact for orders
    When you search for orders and view the search results, if you have the required permission, you can bulk assign orders to yourself or to other purchasing agents.
  - Purchase orders
    You can create purchase orders to procure parts and services from vendors when a part request for a part requirement on a task cannot be fulfilled with local inventory.

    - Create ad hoc purchase orders
    - Create purchase orders for stock requests
    - Monitor and resolve order exceptions
      If your organization uses the AeroBuy Parts Purchasing feature, vendors communicate purchase order changes (called exceptions) which you monitor and resolve on the Spec 2000 PO Exception Search page.

  - Exchange orders
    You use exchange orders to return an unserviceable, repairable part to a vendor and receive a new, working part in return.

  - Repair orders
    To send unserviceable parts to a vendor for repair, you can create a repair order.
  - Changing order types
    You can change a previously created order to another type of order.
  - Order authorization
    Orders must be authorized by a person with the necessary authorization level before they can be issued to vendors. For urgent situations, you can bypass the authorization workflow by choosing an AOG override.
  - Issue orders
    After an order is authorized, you must issue the order, and send it to the vendor for completion.
  - Authorize and issue orders concurrently
    You can authorize and issue an order at the same time, given you have the necessary authorization level for the order and permissions to do so.
  - Override authorization and issue order for AOG
    You can override the authorization process and issue the order at the same time, for AOG critical orders.
  - Cancel orders
    You can cancel an order if you decide that ordered parts are no longer needed. When you cancel an order, its status changes to Cancel, and its record remains in Maintenix.
- Invoices
  Although invoices are not paid in Maintenix, invoice records must be created so that orders can be closed. When an invoice is validated for payment, Maintenix closes the order. Invoices may be created automatically or you can create them manually.

  You can manage warranties offered by a vendor to replace or repair a malfunctioning item, through warranty contracts for assemblies, components and tasks.
