Manual part request fulfillment

When Maintenix cannot automatically reserve inventory for part requests, the requests are displayed on the material controller's To Do List, Open Part Requests and Deferred Fault Part Requests tabs.

Depending on the needed by date for the part request and your permissions, you can use different strategies for filling part requests. Material controllers reserve local inventory, reserve remote inventory, create purchase requests, reserve on order inventory, and depending on permissions, you might create different types of orders directly.

When inventory isn't available locally or in the supply location designated as your supplier for auto-reservation purposes, you might be able to reserve remotely available inventory. To see inventory in a remote location, you have to belong to that location's organization.

In the case of deferred faults, which can be highly time sensitive, you can update the delivery status of these part requests so planners have up-to-date information and can schedule work based on forecasted ETA dates.

Monitor and update part requests on your To Do List tabs
On the Open Part Requests tab, you see ad hoc requests and requests for work packages that are scheduled to your location (and authority). The list is sorted by request priority and then by Needed By date and collects information about the request, related maintenance tasks, and inventory availability. You can assign and unassign requests to yourself, and filter your view to show requests that you work with. This tab does not show deferred fault part requests - these are on a separate Deferred Fault Part Requests tab.
The Available column group shows you the number of items that are unreserved out of the total number available locally, remotely, in unserviceable condition (INREP, INSREQ, or REPREQ), or on order. Another sub-column shows inventory that is available locally or remotely through vendor exchange contracts. For additional information on inventory location and condition, you can view the Availability tabs on the Part Details, Part Group Details, and Stock Details pages.
On the Deferred Fault Part Requests tab, you see all deferred fault part requests, including those not scheduled to a location. You can assign and unassign requests to yourself and filter your view to show requests that you work with. On this tab, you can also manually update the ETA date or add a delivery status note. ETA dates are highlighted if they are later than Needed By dates for part requests.
