View inventory availability details

To help you weigh the fastest option for fulfilling part requests, you can check the Availability tabs for part, part group, and stock to see details about inventory condition and the location of remote or on order inventory.

On the Open Part Requests tab, you see the quantity of serviceable and unserviceable inventory. The Local, Remote, US (unserviceable), and On Order columns show the quantity of unreserved inventory and the total quantity available locally, remotely, loose unserviceable, or on order for the part number. To see the location of remotely available inventory, you can click Reserve Remote Inventory.

But if you want to know about inventory that's in repair or awaiting inspection, look at the part, part group, or stock Availability tab. Typically you reserve RFI inventory, but if it could take longer for a remotely reserved item to arrive than it could take to complete repairs on an item that's in repair locally, then you might check with maintenance about when an INREP item will be fixed.

The Open Part Requests tab shows you available local and remote inventory, but if the Ready for Build (RFB) feature is enabled, this count includes items that are in RFB condition. Depending on the RFB item, it may require shop work before it's ready for installation. To see RFB items counted in a separate column, check the part, part group, or stock Availability tab.

The following steps use the to-do list Open Part Requests tab as the starting point, but you can also access the Availability tabs by doing a part search, part group search, or stock search.

  1. On the Open Part Requests tab, do one of the following:
    • In the Requested column, click the link. The Part Group Details page opens.
    • In the Request ID column, click the link, then in the Part Request area, click the Requested Part link. The Part Details page opens.
  2. On the details page, Availability tab, view information about the location and condition of available inventory.
Note: Serial inventory is not as tightly controlled as tracked inventory. For serial inventory, the quantities might not be 100% accurate.
