Create extraction rules for long range plans
LRP enables you to select weekly and season extraction rules, which specify the maximum number of aircraft that can be taken out of service at a given time. Extraction rules are created in Maintenix, on the Extraction Rules to-do list. These rules are operator and assembly specific. You can also use assembly subtypes to apply a rule to a particular subset of aircraft.
Extraction rules can overlap. For example, a seasonal extraction rule can apply to the summer months, while a weekly extraction rule applies to each week in the summer.
Because you can assign several work types to a task, the work type order is used to set the hierarchy among them. The highest work type order (of all of the work types assigned to tasks within a work package) is the driving work type, which is used by the extraction rule logic. If more than one work type has the highest order, then both work types are treated as the driving work type.
For each extraction rule you can specify the work types. The extraction rule is applicable only to work packages with a driving work type that matches one of the work types specified for the extraction rule. When a rule is defined, and when a work package is scheduled, Maintenix validates these work types against the work types for the blocks and the requirements. If there are no work types specified in the extraction rule, the rule applies to all work packages. Each work type has a priority order in the Maintenix database. The highest work type priority order of all the work types assigned to tasks within a work package is the driving work type for the work package.
