Update and synchronize data
Several events that happen every day may affect the long range plan: flights are completed, maintenance is completed, maintenance programs are changed, etc. An effective long range plan needs to take into account all of the latest information, so that it can generate the most accurate forecast possible. In order to do this, LRP has a concept called Load Actuals.
When you use the Load Actuals function, LRP will retrieve the latest information from core Maintenix. This includes: flight completion, maintenance completion, maintenance program changes, forecast model changes, etc. LRP will retrieve all of this information and then re-forecast the due date for every requirement in the plan. Using this updated forecast, a long range planner can see if there are any new problems or bottlenecks. They can then choose to re-run the Scheduling Automation or manually adjust and refine the plan so that it is an achievable plan once again.
Depending on how your organization uses LRP, you might need to update maintenance completion and usage information in Maintenix before you load up-to-date data to the plan.
You should load actuals manually when you first open a plan, before publishing changes to a long range plan, and when you want to see changes that have happened while you had a plan open. If you attempt to publish a long range plan when another user has made changes to it since you last loaded actuals, Maintenix displays a warning dialog box, indicating how to continue.
