Setting Up Requirements to Create Allowable Configuration Users

Allowable Configuration has three types of end-users that must be set up:

  • Engineering Service Partner
  • Configuration Control Board
  • Configuration Specialist

Create a user by following the instructions in Users.

Once you have your user set up, select the respective permission set from the available permission sets designed specifically for Allowable Configuration and assign them to each User. Refer to the Assigning Permission Sets section to read more.

The respective permission sets designed for Allowable Configuration Users are as follows -

  • Engineering Service Partner - AC_ENG_SERVICE_PARTNER
  • Configuration Control Board - AC_CONFIG_CON_BOARD
  • Configuration Specialist - AC_CONFIG_SPECIALIST

Engineering Service Partner

The Engineering Service Partner will have access as an Allowable Configuration end-user to the B2B (Business to Business) page. The main pages are not accessible to the Users of this permission set.

Once the Engineering Service Partner user is created, assign the predefined permission set AC_ENG_SERVICE_PARTNER to the user.

Configuration Control Board

The Configuration Control Board user accesses Allowable Configuration as an end-user.

Once the Configuration Control Board user is created, assign the predefined permission set AC_CONFIG_CON_BOARD to the user. This permission set has grants to all Allowable Configuration features.

Configuration Specialist

The Configuration Specialist user also accesses Allowable Configuration as an end-user.

After the Configuration Specialist user is created, assign the predefined permission set AC_CONFIG_SPECIALIST to the user. This permission set has grants to all Allowable Configuration features except for approving a change source.

Note: Do not edit any details specified within the pre-defined Allowable Configuration permission sets. In case you need to customize a permission set, create a new permission set without editing the default permission sets of Allowable Configuration. To create a new permission set, follow the instructions given in Permission sets.

The permissions for projections, lobby pages and related fields that need to be granted for the Users in Allowable Configuration can be referred to, from the default permission sets created.
