Set Up Requirements for Allowable Configuration Users

Allowable Configuration has three types of end-users that must be set up:

  • Engineering Service Partner
  • Configuration Control Board
  • Configuration Specialist

You must create users for them. See Users.

Once you have your user set up, you must create a user permission set. See Permission Sets.

Pages are granted through the respective projection. You must grant projections to permission sets. See Projections and Lobby Pages.

You must then grant the permission set you created to the relevant user. See Grant Structure.

Engineering Service Partner

The Engineering Service Partner accesses Allowable Configuration as an end-user with B2B (Business to Business) permissions.

  1. Once the Engineering Service Partner user and permission set are created, assign the predefined permission set, FND_WEBENDUSER_B2B, to the permission set you created.
  2. Grant the following projections for the permission set you created:
    • ConfigChangeSourceB2bHandling with access level set to Full.
    • DocReferenceObjectB2bAttachmentHandling with access level set to Read Only.

Configuration Control Board

The Configuration Control Board user accesses Allowable Configuration as an end-user.

  1. Once the Configuration Control Board user and permission set are created, assign the predefined permission set, FND_WEBENDUSER_MAIN, to the permission set you created.
  2. Grant following projections, with access level set to Full, for the permission set you created:
    • CfgmgrNavigator

Configuration Specialist

The Configuration Specialist user also accesses Allowable Configuration as an end-user.

  1. Once the Configuration Specialist user and permission set are created, assign the predefined permission set, FND_WEBENDUSER_MAIN, to the permission set you created.
  2. Grant the same projections given to the Configuration Control Board.
  3. A Configuration Specialist user must not be able to approve a Configuration Change Source. To disable this action:
    1. In the Projections page, locate the ConfigChangeDocsHandling projection and select the record.
    2. Click on the three dots alongside the record, and click on Manage Projection Grants.
    3. Click on Entity Action Grants from the left navigator.
    4. Locate the entity ConfigChangeSrcRevision, with the action Approve.
    5. Select the record, and click on the Revoke button.
