Basic Data Container

Basic Container is the storage area for the Basic Data. Operations are similar to that of Output Container except the Basic Data Target Locking. After a Basic Data Target is locked, data cannot be extracted from either Output Container or Connected Environemt. In order to see any data in the Basic Data Container, the Filters have to be set for a specific Basic Data Target Table. Target Table Scope decides the type of the given Target table whether it is Basic Data or Not.

There are two status fields for data in the Basic Data Container, a Locked Status field for the basic data target and a Deployed Status for data. The Record Status for data shows the evolvement of the Record from, New, Modified, Approved or Deleted. The Data Status for data handles the quality of the Data in the Record like, Not Validated, Error, Validated and Ready to be Deployed. The Deploy Status, reflects if the Record has been Deployed to any of the Target Environments. These Status fields can be used to select for Rerun of Validation Test.

User can edit data in this container if the basic data target is unlocked and data line is in unapproved state. This container has a generic table structuare similar to other containers with 10 columns to store key field values, 50 columns to store non-key field values and all those 60 columns has adjascent columns to store the messages that are generated during validations.

Meta Data Validation

If any Error exists, the Data Status is set to Error, and the columns containing Errors will have a description in its related Messages column. This will show exactly what Error needs to be fixed. To handle Meta Data Errors in the Basic Data Container, it is possible to manually update the fields, that needs to be updated. The Basic Data Container is the only container that allows manual update.

Basic Data Validation

Basic Data Validation, is performed to control the data in references or sub tables, Only Validated data, that is Approved willbe used. If Basic Data Error occurs there are two ways to handle these. Manually change the value, so it becomes Basic Data Validated, or Manually add the Basic Data, in the underlying Basic Data Table, to extend the validation range of data. Self Validation is supported too.

Basic Data Extraction

Basic Data Extraction can be done either from the basic data container itself or from an connected environment. When Basic Data Extraction from Connected Environment function is executed, it selects the records for the same Basic Data Table, but from the Connected Environment. Existing Key values will not be duplicated, instead they will updated with values in their empty fields. Otherwise additional records will also be added from the Connected Environment.

Approve/Unapprove Data

The last step in the Basic Data Validation flow, is to Approve the Data. The Approval of the Basic Data, is the final control that these Records, should be used in the solution. The Approved Records, can be used for Basic Data Validation in Output or Basic Data Container. If user expect to deploy basic data too these approved records will considered during the deployment in deployment container.
